History

After more than sixty years Treasureland continues to provide a child-centered, relational learning environment to approximately 80 children.

Treasureland Preschool was founded in 1956 as a result of two circumstances.  The neighborhood surrounding the church was growing rapidly as families with young children moved into the suburbs.  Christ Church recognized these young families, many of whom had no relatives in town were in need of support and nurturing.  Thus, Treasureland was established to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for young children.  It continues as an evangelism ministry of the church. Treasureland began with one classroom and about fifteen children who attended a couple of days a week for three hours.  Additional classrooms were added when the need arose, allowing three year-old, pre-k children to attend. In 2000 the Wee Treasures program serving toddlers was initiated.  Treasureland Preschool was extended to a four- hour program in 2013 to better accommodate families and allow for more classroom learning experiences.
